Issue
We have received reports that the touch screen on the HP RP9 G1 All-in-one system may have stopped working suddenly. This is a known manufacturer issue and HP has developed quick tool to reset the touch controller firmware which should restore the touch screen functionality.
Resolution
- Download and execute the Touch Controller Firmware Reset tool here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/closure/hp-rp9-g1-retail-system/8737474
- Follow the prompts and accept the User Agreement.
While the Touch Controller is detected and reset by the tool, the following screen displays:
- Wait until the next prompt "Press any key to exit" is displayed, indicating that the Touch Controller reset is complete.
The touch screen should now be working again. If still experiencing issues with touch screen, please contact Fred via your Fred Help Portal and log a ticket for further troubleshooting.
