Fred POS
Issue
From time to time, the EFTPOS terminal (PINPAD) may show up as offline when processing EFTPOS transactions at POS. This guide will provide quick step on bringing PINPAD back online.
Resolution
- Verify the PINPAD is offline by checking the Linkly Client GUI icon:
The port status may show as PORT OPEN or PINPAD OFFLINE. - Run the Auto Detect function from Linkly EMS Client which will allow you to detect EFT-Servers on the network and eftpos terminals connected to the POS.
Note:- AUTO DETECT will restart both the Linkly Client and EFT-Server.
- AUTO DETECT may require administration privileges to run.
- AUTO DETECT may not detect an EFT-Server or correctly functioning PINPAD.
- If AUTO DETECT is not detecting a terminal, it does not mean the terminal is faulty or configured incorrectly. If it is not detecting an EFT-Server, it does not mean the EFT-Server is inaccessible
- If the EMS Auto Detect shows EFTPOS terminal/PINPAD detected but the Port status from step 1 still shows PORT OPEN/Offline, then perform a restart on the EFTPOS Terminal/PINPAD.
For example: On the Ingenico Move 500 model, press and hold down Clear and Function keys together:
Allow the machine to go blue, it will boot up.
If the screen remains black, then hold down the green ENTER Key to turn it back on. - Wait for approximately 5 minutes. If the Linkly Client GUI icon is still not green as shown below, then contact Linkly on 02 9998 9800, or 1300 369 852 for those banking with NAB.
