Fred Dispense Plus
The Patient Merge functionality is not permitted to be used with ePrescriptions. Therefore, if a prescription has been dispensed to the wrong patient profile, you will need to cancel and re-dispense to the correct profile.
If a cancel and re-dispense is not possible, you can merge all non-ePrescriptions to a single profile and then apply the following steps to ensure no future ePrescriptions will match to the duplicate profile.
To stop a duplicate profile from being used when dispensing eRx or ePrescriptions:
- Remove the IHI number.
To prevent the IHI number from re-validating, set the patient's Gender to unspecified and then delete the IHI before saving these changes.
- Remove the Medicare number and set Consent to No.
The above steps will prevent Fred Dispense Plus from matching the wrong profile in most cases, however you may also want to flag the duplicate profiles by adding (Duplicate) to the patient's name.
ePrescription and eRx patient matching
Matching uses the following data in priority order:
- Patient IHI number
- Patient Medicare number
- Patient name and address
