Issue
When you press the [Scan] button on the touch panel, an orange exclamation mark displays with an error message The device is not responding.
The ScanSnap home program on the computer also displays the following:
Resolution
- Open Command Prompt via the Windows Start menu.
- Type services.msc and press Enter to open Windows Services.
- Scroll down in the list, then double click Windows Images Acquisition (WIA) service.
- Click the Log On tab.
- Change option of Log on as: to use Local system account and ensure Allow service to interact with desktop is checked.
- Restart computer.
