Fred POS Plus
Overview
This covers the standard hotkey creation process for Creating a button for an item/service.
Administrator privileges as Retail Management Hero Store Manager are required.
Example: Oliver wants to add an Ear Piercing button to the till. He wants it under the Misc Menu button.
Setting up a button for an item or service
- First, ensure the item is in Fred Office.
- Log in to Fred Office and go to Inventory. Search for the item.
- If the item is not there, create it.
- If the item is a service (such as ear piercing) rather than an item, make sure to set the Item Type to Non-Inventory, otherwise you can leave it as Standard.
- You can set a price for the item or alternatively, go to Options and select Item Price must be entered at register. This allows you to enter the price when the button is selected at the till.
- Once the item is created. You can close down Fred Office and open up RMH Store Manager.
- In Store Manager click on Setup > Hardware > POS Task Pads.
The touch screen button layouts available at the till are displayed.
- To view a layout, double-click on it. For example, to add a button to the home screen, double-click on the Fred Home task pad.
- Click the button you want to add the item card to. In this example, click on a custom command button. In most cases the button area will be simply grey and have nothing in it at all.
- In order for a button to work, you need to provide the following details.
- For the ear piercing example, configure the button as follows.
- Button Type: select Command.
- Command: Enter Item_AddCommand "XXXX". The XXXX is the item code of the item you want to add.
- Button Color: Any colour. In this example, lime green is selected.
- Caption: The text to be displayed on the button, for example, Ear Piercing.
-
Font Color: Use a contrasting color, so the text is visible on the button.
- Click Save And Close.
- If the till is still open, you will need to close it down and reopen it again.
The button will now be available for selection at the till.
