How to configure hotkeys on Fred POS Plus (RMH)

Overview

Custom buttons (also known as hotkeys) are used in Fred POS Plus to automate certain functions that may not be included in the control panel buttons.

For example, you may want to use custom buttons to apply a predefined 10% discount to the transaction, or quickly tender the transaction with a $10 bill. The rich set of custom commands allows a wide variety of such actions.

Steps

Custom buttons are defined in RMH Back Office Manager.

1. Select RMH Manager > Setup > Hardware > POS Task Pads.
2. Open Fred POS Task Pad.
3. Click the button to edit and change Settings as required.
4. Button type: Select Command, TaskPad (link to another taskpad), or Unassigned (disabled).
   • Command
   • Button color: Select color for button background.
   • Caption: Enter text description to appear on button.
   • Font color: Select color for button caption text. See default Fred Taskpad colours.
   • Image: not currently used.
5. Click Save and Close.
