Printers
Overview
This guide provides the steps for setting up dispensary label printer profile.
Steps
- Remove the printer from its box and connect it to the PC.
- Download and extract the printer driver. We recommend using the Seagull driver which you can download from: https://www.seagullscientific.com/support/downloads/drivers/zebra/

Access Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Here are some ways to access it:

Windows 10: From the Windows menu, select Run, then enter control printers and click OK.

Windows 11: From the Windows menu, select Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Devices > More devices and printer settings.

- Select Add a printer, then select The printer that I want isn't listed.
- Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings, then click Next.
- Select Use an existing port, choose the relevant port for your USB connected printer, then select Next.
Select the printer Manufacturer from the left and then select the printer model from the right:
If the printer you are installing does not display under the Printers list, click Have Disk and browse to the folder where you have downloaded and extracted the printer driver from Step 2 above.
The most common label printer drivers are the following for Zebra brand: -
- Zebra LP2844
- Zebra GC420D - EPL
- Zebra ZD220 (203 dpi) - EPL
- Zebra ZD421 (203 dpi) - EPL
- Enter a printer name for the printer profile you are installing—for example, "FredLabel", then click Next.
- Select the printer in your dispensing software:
- Fred Dispense: Select Setup > System Configuration, then under Label Printer, select Printer Name (defined above) and Printer Type.

Fred Dispense Plus: From the menu, select Setup > Printer Settings, then under Label Printer select Printer Name (defined above). Make sure that the Printer option is selected and Save.
