Create an Own Brand Drug in Fred Dispense

Overview

If a drug you want to dispense does not exist in the Fred Dispense drug file, you can create an Own Brand Drug.

Create an own brand drug

1. From the Lists menu, select Own Brand Drugs.
2. Click Add.
3. Enter the relevant details for the item.

4. Once completed, click Save.
   

   The Own Brand Drug code and Generic code (if new) will be generated automatically once saved. Own Brand Drug codes will begin with a period, in the above example: .80483

5. If required, link this own brand drug to an item in Fred Office. See the relevant section below.

Link an own brand drug (Fred Office Plus)

1. From Fred Office, open the applicable item card and from the Links menu, select Drugs, then select Match.
2. Search for your Own Brand Drug using the description entered into Fred Dispense Plus and save to complete the process.

Link an own brand drug (Fred NXT Office)

1. Click on the search button under POS Item for the relevant Own Brand Drug.
2. Search and select an item to link the POS product to your Own Brand Drug.
