Own Brand Drug not triggering RTPM - cannabis or other controlled drugs

Issue

Dispensing a controlled Own Brand Drug is not getting picked up by Real Time Prescription Monitoring (RTPM).

You may find:

• Dispensed events not uploading to RTPM.
• No pre-check results or pre-check displaying "Drug is not monitored."
  

Cause

Certain details required for RTPM to trigger are not populated in the Own Brand Drug Card.

Resolution

1. From the Lists menu, select Own Brand Drugs to review the Own Brand Drug card.
2. Ensure Strength is populated appropriately.
3. Ensure Schedule is populated appropriately (e.g. 8, 4R).

4. Ensure the Generic field is populated. Below is a list of some generic names that serve as triggering names for RTPM:

   • Cannabis
   • Tetrahydrocannabinol
   • Cannabidiol

   Names such as THC or CBD do not serve as triggering terms and will result in the failure of script information to upload.
