How to setup and dispense medication charts

Overview

To dispense medication charts:

1. The patient must first be added into a facility.
2. Switch to chart mode.

Steps

1. Set up the facility, if not already set up.

   You must set the correct facility type as it affects what is transmitted to PBS Online and the rules governing chart duration.

2. Set up the patient and associate with the facility. See Medication Charts setup (patient setup) in Fred Dispense Online Help for more details.
3. In Fred Dispense, select the patient for medication chart dispensing. Once the patient is selected, switch to chart mode (CTRL+SHIFT+C).

At any time during the dispensing of a script, you can toggle in and out of chart mode for a patient within an eligible nursing home.
