Fred Dispense
Overview
The Continuing Medication Program assists people who are homeless and require assistance with accessing PBS medications. Patients presenting with a script displaying a CMP code are eligible for medicine at reduced prices.
Participating pharmacies can claim via PBS Online.
Steps
Follow the steps below when dispensing a prescription under the CMP:
- From the Dispense menu, select CMP Rx (or press <CTRL + SHIFT + M>) to display the Continuing Medication Program dialog prompt and enter the last three characters of the CMP code.
- The CMP code is displayed at the top of the dispensing screen, and the Price field is updated with the CMP price.
CMP is subject to the following rules:
- Only applies to participating pharmacies.
- Only applies to Concession or DVA patients. Does NOT apply to General patients, nor for General Patients reaching Safety Net Concession.
- Only applies to Section 85 drugs in the Main PBS Schedule. Does NOT apply to S100 drugs, items under IVF program or Chemotherapy drugs.
- Does NOT flow on to subsequent repeats, i.e., it is for a single supply only.
Do not confuse the CMP with Continued Dispensing."
