Fred Dispense Plus
Overview
This article outlines the steps to enable and manage drug ranking.
This feature is only available for stores that are not connected to a head office.
Steps
Step 1: Enable drug ranking
If this is your first time managing drug ranking:
- From the menu, select Setup, then select Dispense Options.
- Make sure that Drug ranking by number is set to Yes.
- Click Save.
Step 2: Assign drug ranking
You can assign drug rankings by assigning a number (0-9) to individual drugs or in bulk.
- 0 – Used often
- 5 – Average/default
- 9 – Used rarely
The lower the drug rank number, the higher the drug will appear in search results.

Individual drugs
Navigate to individual drug card in the drugs (from the menu, select Lists, then select Drugs) or own brand drugs (from the menu, select Lists, then select Own Brand Drugs) to assign a drug ranking. -
Multiple drugs in bulk
- From the menu, select Setup, then select Dispense Options, then click Manage Ranking.
- Next, move drugs between lists as follows:
- Select a Drug Rank.

To assign this rank, choose drugs from the right-hand list and move them to the left by clicking the left arrow <.
You can filter the list by selecting a Manufacturer or by entering a Drug Name (for example, "Atenolol" or "APO").
- From the menu, select Setup, then select Dispense Options, then click Manage Ranking.
