Create a new department and category

Departments and their associated categories can be viewed, updated and adjusted.  The below procedure outlines how to add a new department and categories including adding a Price guides and matching to AppCAT.  Please note AppCAT matching (where possible) is important to ensure AppCAT Differences successfully download.

To create a new department and category

1. Click Inventory > Departments.
2. Click New.
3. Enter a department Name.
4. Enter a Price Guide (if required).
5. Click Add.
6. Enter a category Name.
7. Enter a Price Guide (if required).

8. Click OK.

   To add additional categories, click Add and repeat the step above as many times as required until all categories are added.

9. Click AppCAT.

10. Click Automatic.

    If the automatic matching fails, do the following:

    1. Click Manual.
    2. Select the AppCAT department to match to.

    3. Click Match.

       

       The matched department and any categories are displayed.

11. Use the drop-down to match or adjust any categories (if required).

    

12. Click Save and Close.
