Fred Dispense Plus
When a product is deleted from the PBS, that product will be available for Supply Only where appropriate. Products that are in a Supply Only state will be available for dispensing, but not for prescribing, usually for a period of up to 12 months from the deletion date.

Example - Ibrance 125mg Capsules, 21
PBS status changed to Supply Only from 01/01/2022 – 11698Q
Supply Only item prescribed prior to deletion date
PBS will still pay for Ibrance 125mg capsules for scripts prescribed prior to 01/01/22. Therefore, Fred Dispense Plus will display Ibrance capsules as a PBS listing.
Supply Only item prescribed on or after deletion date
If a prescriber has written a script for Ibrance 125mg capsules on or after 01/01/2022, the item is no longer covered by the PBS and is reflected as such in Fred Dispense Plus, with ‘private’ options only.
Substitutable equivalent
It is not uncommon for an item that has been flagged as Supply Only to be replaced with a substitutable equivalent. This is indicated on PBS.gov.au under Notes.
In this scenario, scripts for Ibrance capsules dated on or after 01/01/22 can be substituted with its equivalent strength in tablet form.
You will need to manually search and select the tablet form when performing this substitution as the GS substitution shortcut to switch capsules to tablets will not work for this scenario.
