Fred Dispense
Overview
You can search for drug information via the AusDI Advanced website, directly from Fred Dispense. AusDI Advanced is a drug information system that allows you to search for:
- Drug Monographs (DM)
- Consumer medicines information (CMI)
- Vendor-created Product Information (PI) sheets
- Images of drugs
Register for AusDI
In order to use the AusDI integration in Fred Dispense, you must first subscribe to AusDI.
- Click the AusDI icon in the Fred Dispense toolbar.
The AusDI Subscription page opens in your browser.The registration form is populated with your pharmacy's user details if Fred Dispense is able to provide them.
- Complete and submit the registration form.
After you complete the registration, AusDI sends you a confirmation email with your username and password.
- Click the link in the email and follow the instructions to activate your registration on the AusDI website.
- In Fred Dispense, you are prompted to enter your AusDI password. Click Yes.
The AusDI configuration screen is displayed. - Enter the password from your registration confirmation email.
If you want AusDI to appear on the Drug Information Request screen, select the AusDI active checkbox.
- Click Save.
Change your AusDI Settings
After you Register for AusDI, you can change your AusDI integration settings in Fred Dispense whenever necessary.
- From the Setup menu, select AusDI Configuration.
The AusDI Configuration Window is displayed. - Make the required changes. You can:
- Update your Password if you have changed it.
- Check or uncheck the AusDI active checkbox. This controls whether the option to request drug information from AusDI is shown on the Drug Information Request screen. For details, see Request Drug Information from AusDI.
- To save your changes and close the window, click Save.
Request Drug Information from AusDI
There are multiple ways to request drug information from AusDI in Fred Dispense. Each method launches the relevant page of the AusDI website in your default browser.
Note: If you do not have an AusDI account, you are taken to the registration page, where you can Register for AusDI.
From the Toolbar
Click the AusDI icon to start the request.
From the Drug Information Request Screen
There are three ways to access the Drug Information screen:
- Press [Ctrl+Shift+-].
- From the Activities menu, select Drug Information.
- On the Wait screen, click the Drug Information button.
Click the AusDI button to start the request.
The AusDI button is only available if you have ticked the AusDI active checkbox on the AusDI configuration screen. For details, see Change your AusDI Settings.
