Negative stock on hand for extemporaneous drug item cards

Overview

This article explains how to resolve an issue with negative stock on hand (SOH) reporting in Fred Office Plus for item cards linked to extemporaneous drug cards.

Steps

1. In Fred Office, navigate to Inventory > Drugs and enter the drug code for the extemporaneous item. In this example, enter CREA1 for Cream.
   
   Here are the drug codes for common extemporaneous drugs:
   
   • CREA1 (Cream)
   • OINT1 (Ointment, Waxes)
   • MIXT1 (Mixture)
2. Click on the drug, then go to Item > View.
   
3. Update the Item Description if needed and change the Item Type to Non-Inventory.
   
   All future extemporaneous dispensing for Cream should no longer cause negative stock on hand since the Item Type has been set to Non-Inventory.
